Sometimes things get lost in translation...........
We live on a cattle ranch in a big old house. The kitchen is old. The bathroom is old and the windows are old, too. They tend to let in the hot air in the summer and the cold air in the winter. Not a huge deal for us, though. We don't pay the electricity bill, the ranch owner does that. With 2 air conditioners in the windows for the summer I'm sure the bill is astronomical! The winter time heating bill is FREE, though. We chop firewood for our wood stove and it heats the whole house.
One day last week my husband was in the yard getting ready to split the wood into smaller pieces that we can use to get a good fire going. Without my knowledge my husband asked our daughter to go inside and get the maul he uses to split the wood......Well, to understand where I'm going with this story you first have to know that in our house right behind our front door sits several 'tools'....an axe, a sledge hammer, a broom and the infamous maul. Not really what I'd consider the "eye candy" of our home decor, but they all have a pretty regular job around here so that's where they stay.
Back to my story......Savana comes in and proceeds to carry each tool outside. One by one, she carries them out careful not to trip and fall. My husband sees this and says "Honey, I only asked for the maul. Why are you bringing out all the tools??"
To which she replied, "I thought you said to bring 'them all', NOT 'bring the maul'!!
